Job summary

MilliporeSigma is hiring a Field Service Technician to install, repair, perform preventative maintenance, and qualify water purification systems across the Lehigh Valley area and beyond. You will deliver on-site solutions and ensure optimal performance of our products for clients, including technical reporting and calibration.

The role requires 3+ years of field service experience or a relevant engineering degree, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and the ability to read technical documents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of field service experience or related technical background.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or other Engineering field.
• Associates degree or completion of a Trade School program preferred.
• Electronics background/experience recommended.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents.
• Strong documentation skills and basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional service on a timely basis, including PMs, installs, and repairs, with proper on-site housekeeping.
• Close Work Orders daily and document them accurately.
• Provide customers with Service Reports and verification/qualification documentation.
• Maintain a daily schedule, communicate with customers, and ensure timely responses.
• Notify Manager if schedule impacts customer satisfaction or timelines.
• Maintain inventory and calibrate tools/test equipment.
• Generate leads for hardware, consumables, accessories, and service contracts.
• Assist with custom engineered system installations with supervision.
• Occasional overnight travel and additional travel within expanded territory; company vehicle provided.
• Shift may include after-hours work for emergencies.
