Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Field Service Technician in Vineland, NJ to perform on-site fuel cell service, safely operate a service vehicle, and execute daily tasks from a provided schedule. You will diagnose electrical and electro-mechanical issues, follow OSHA/NFPA 70E standards, and maintain customer relationships while reporting on-site activities and inventories.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields.
• Alternative: technical diploma and journeyman/electrician certification with 4+ years experience.
• Military electrical experience or Navy Nuclear experience acceptable.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and safety knowledge (OSHA & NFPA 70E).
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs and work at heights up to 20 ft.
• Travel up to 40% to support company needs.
• Team player with integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide fuel cell service during shift at primary site.

• Follow company procedures and protocols.
• Diagnose errors or problems and implement solutions.
• Cooperate with a technical team and share information across the organization.
• Maintain service vehicle and spare part inventory.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports as required.
• Complete daily administrative duties such as closing service appointments and debriefing parts.
• Open to working a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedule.
• Be willing to travel up to 40% and participate in on-call rotation.

Field Service Technician - Vineland NJ (on-site)

• Provide fuel cell service during shift at primary site.
• Operate a service vehicle safely
• Create daily workflows for oneself from a list of scheduled tasks ( regularly assigned to work autonomously )
• Manage on-site preventative maintenance, repair, test, and diagnostic tasks
• Follow company procedures and protocols
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine/implement proper solutions
• Cooperate with a technical team and share information across the organization
• Comprehend and follow customer access requirements
• Maintain service vehicle and spare part inventory
• Maintain/build positive relationships with customers
• Produce timely and detailed service reports as required
• Complete daily administrative duties such as closing service appointments and debriefing parts.
• Other responsibilities as assigned
• Must be willing to travel up to 40% to support the company's needs for additional projects.
• Open to working a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedule.
• Once qualified, provide on-call rotation for possible on-site support.

Requirements

• The following MINIMUM levels of experience and or education are required:
• High school diploma & 6 years’ experience in electrical, process controls, or electro-mechanical fields; - Or –
• Technical diploma, Journeymen Certification, Electrician Certification in a technical field, and relevant industry experience of 4 years (electrician, electronics technician, field service, technician, test engineer, etc.) - Or –
• 5 years or more relevant experience in commercial electrical, combined with electrical-related military experience (eg. Navy Nuclear Electronics/Electrical Technician, or other technical position, military certified electrician or technician, Gas Turbine Electrician)
• Strong electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic skills required.
• Familiar with safety standards, especially those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E).
• Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician working with any of the following technologies: three-phase systems, uninterruptible power supplies, electrical generation and distribution systems, power electronics, automatic transfer switches, and microprocessor-based control platforms.
• Experience with various electrical/electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Able to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams and blueprints.
• Experience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI/NETA standards for Electrical Power.
• Mechanical system aptitude, to include troubleshooting/repair skills.
• Highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Demonstrates sound judgment in the resolution of complex problems.
• Team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Communicates written and verbal English effectively.
• Comfortable with working from elevated heights up to 20ft in the air.
• Able to execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructions.
• Able to regularly handle equipment up to 50lbs., occasionally may lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to reach, squat, bend, and twist during the workday.
• Able to use a ladder or stepstool regularly.
• Able to facilitate 24X7 on-call duty.
• Able to facilitate shift work as needed.
• Able to regularly support overtime to achieve quarterly goals.
• Able to travel up to 40%.
