Steven Douglas Corp (SDC) is seeking a Service Technician – Solar Test and Inspection Machines in Perrysburg, OH. Travel locally to customer sites and occasional trips to Concord, OH for training and collaboration with engineering teams.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing automated test equipment for solar panel manufacturing, with emphasis on HVAC systems and electronic measurement gear. Strong wiring, schematics literacy, and customer communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with automated machinery in field service or maintenance.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience servicing HVAC, temperature control, and electronic measurement equipment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred; certification obtainable.
• Experience with robotics, vision, or motion control is a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and manuals.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally between customer facilities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment.
• Manage customer interactions during service visits and provide clear communications.
• Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics using schematics and docs.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and calibrate HVAC systems, heaters, and measurement equipment.
• Support projects with engineering, and document service calls and solutions.
• Provide timely technical support via phone, email, and on-site visits.
• Work with robotics or automation components as needed and escalate complex issues.
