Job summary

NextPlay Jobs is seeking Field Service Technicians / Refractory Apprentices to join a growing service team. This entry-level role offers hands-on training while traveling to customer sites across the United States to repair, rebuild and maintain industrial equipment.

Candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience and strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply. Expect extensive travel (50–100%) and paid travel time along with benefits and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with basic tools.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Willing to travel extensively (50–100% depending on project demand) and pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist with demolition and removal of refractory materials.
• Help install brick, castable refractory, ceramic fiber, and insulation.
• Prepare and mix materials according to specifications.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Assist experienced technicians with equipment repairs and rebuilds.
• Prepare and maintain safe, organized jobsites.
• Follow PPE, lockout/tagout and confined-space safety procedures.
• Travel to customer facilities for service projects.
• Learn specialized refractory and industrial service skills through hands‑on training.
