Job summary

The Rapid Group is seeking a Field Technician to service wastewater pumps, booster pumps, and rotating equipment at customer sites in the NYC area. This strictly field-based role requires travel to client locations and does not require reporting to Hauppauge, NY.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, startups, alignment, preventive maintenance, and thorough documentation to ensure reliable operation for municipal, industrial, and commercial clients.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, or rotating equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with mechanical seals, packing, bearings, and alignment is desirable.
• Knowledge of OSHA job site safety requirements and safe operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, inspection, startups, and performance evaluations on centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Replace seals, bearings, packing, and mechanical components in pumps, motors, blowers, generators, and related equipment.
• Conduct precision alignment of motors and pumps.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, and repair rotating equipment at customer sites.
• Document detailed work orders with pump/motor data, failure analysis, and required parts.
