Job summary

Gulf States Engineering Co., Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to service municipal water/wastewater and industrial equipment in Louisiana and surrounding states.

You will install, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, drives, PLCs, and related systems, while building strong customer relationships and providing on-site training. Key duties include diagnosing issues, reporting results, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience troubleshooting and repairing submersible, centrifugal pumps, and controls; not required but is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft office programs; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Basic knowledge of electrical controls and motors knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers at times
• Must be available to work occasional nights, holidays, and weekends
• Travel out of state during road jobs is required on occasion
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of equipment at customer locations.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Respond promptly to service requests and resolve problems professionally.
• Demonstrate operation and functionality of equipment to customers.
• Provide technical guidance and training to customers on operation and maintenance.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend equipment upgrades or service solutions.
• Maintain daily schedule of service appointments and complete jobs on time.
• Document service activities and customer interactions in reports.
