Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO, INC. is seeking an on-site Facility Maintenance Technician to keep floor and bench scales running safely and accurately at customer locations.

You will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, basic repairs, and user training, documenting work in our service database and coordinating with the Scheduling Analyst and service teams. This role requires travel up to 25% and a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years relevant work experience.
• Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration.
• 1–3 years electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Weights and Measures license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% on average, potentially up to 25%.
• Must reside within the service territory.
• Ability to work overtime averaging 10–15%, possibly up to 25%.
• Willingness to work in environments with hazards such as chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, dust, dirt, cold, and fumes.
• Willingness to wear protective equipment and clothing when required.
• Position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing.
• Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier loads by carrying, pushing, or pulling.
• Frequent physical movements required such as crouching, stooping, kneeling, and repeated bending for safe and efficient job performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and calibration on industrial weighing equipment at customer sites, following procedures and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs with experienced technicians.
• Provide end-user training on equipment use and care.
• Document work using a laptop and service software; update service records daily.
• Communicate with Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, sales, and fellow technicians.
• Maintain company vehicle and parts inventory in a clean, organized, and compliant manner.
• Identify service or product needs and submit sales leads in line with your experience level.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company policies on site.
