Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a Field Service Technician to service floor and bench scales at customer sites across the assigned region. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and basic repairs, while representing the company professionally on-site.

You will document work, train end users, and collaborate closely with the Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, and sales to achieve uptime goals. Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed is required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• High School Diploma or GED or 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration.
• 1–3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL and a Weights and Measures license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to learn proprietary METTLER TOLEDO software and update information.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% on average, potentially up to 25%.
• Must reside within the service territory.
• Ability to work overtime averaging 10–15%, possibly up to 25%.
• Willingness to work in hazardous environments and wear protective equipment.
• Position is safety sensitive and subject to drug testing.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavier loads as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on industrial weighing equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs.
• Provide end-user training so operators understand how to use and care for their equipment.
• Document work performed and update service records using service software.
• Communicate with Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, sales, and fellow technicians to meet uptime/response targets.
• Maintain company vehicle and parts inventory in a clean, organized, compliant manner.
• Identify service or product needs and submit sales leads where appropriate.
• Follow all safety, customer, and quality policies to ensure a safe work environment.
