Job summary

GEA Group is seeking a field service technician in the United States to support industrial packaging and slicing equipment. The role requires hands-on electro-mechanical experience, strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, and the ability to travel up to 90% with short-notice assignments.

Candidates must be able to troubleshoot, perform repairs, provide operator training, and comply with OSHA standards. Excellent English communication and independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems in industrial machinery.
• Experience with slicing and packaging equipment is required.
• Strong electrical aptitude including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work independently.

• Provide emergency and preventive maintenance on packaging and slicing equipment.
• Offer technical support to customers including troubleshooting and repair guidance.

Candidates MUST have previous experience working on industrial food packaging and/or slicing equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.
• Provides technical support to customers including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines.
• Provides training of customers’ operators and maintenance personnel.
• Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.

Your Profile / Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on technical experience on electro-mechanical systems as applied to state-of-the-art industrial machinery.
• Slicing and/or Packaging equipment experience REQUIRED Strong electrical aptitude, including motors, AC & servo drives, electrical circuitry, PLC and PC based control systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including power transmission systems, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Excellent communications skills - must be proficient in English, have strong listening skills and enjoy working with people.
• Able to multi-task and work under extreme pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Excellent computer literacy including knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Able to travel extensively (up to 90%) including weekends and on short notice.
• Some travel may be for extended periods (up to 3 weeks).

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $37.00 - $46.00 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
