Job summary

Hiab, located in Fontana, CA, is seeking a field service technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on forklifts, cranes, loaders and related equipment.

Position requires 100% travel, valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma. DOT medical card is required and a company cell phone, laptop and other tools may be provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations experience.
• Own diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders and hoists.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks per manager instructions.
• Upgrade and refurbish equipment as required.
• Maintain records and submit daily reports as directed.

Salary ranges from $39.90-$46.40 per hour based on skills and experience.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager's instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

The Hiab facility is located in Fontana, CA, however all field service work will be conducted in the North Los Angeles, CA and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager's instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customers' queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Driver's License is required
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Own tools required
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
• This position requires 100% travel
