Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon, a leading provider of transformer and power distribution solutions, seeks a Field Service Technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical power equipment.

You will travel locally and regionally, perform high- and medium-voltage work, and ensure safety while delivering exceptional service to utilities, industrial facilities, and commercial operations across North America.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree in electrical trades preferred.
• NETA 2 certification preferred; will substitute 3+ years of relevant work experience on commercial or industrial electrical projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and control schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain low-, medium-, and high-voltage distribution equipment.
• Perform electrical testing on transformers, breakers, switchgear, relays, and related equipment.
• Respond to customer needs, including occasional emergency calls, with professionalism.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety standards.
• Prepare accurate daily reports and documentation.
• Care for company tools and test equipment, including check in/out procedures.
• Travel locally and regionally, with periodic overnight assignments.

What You'll Do

What You Bring

• Skilled in the use of industrial electrical test equipment and hand tools.
• Strong commitment to safety, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazard awareness.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet background and drug-screen requirements.
• Willingness to travel to job sites and work extended or irregular hours as needed.
• Eligibility to work in the US without need for employer sponsored VISA (work permit).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work in outdoor or industrial environments.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights or weekends during outages or emergency service calls.
