Your Role:

MilliporeSigma is hiring a Field Service Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional technical support and expertise to our customers. You will work with state-of-the-art equipment, providing on-site solutions and ensuring optimal product performance.

You will be responsible for the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of water purification systems throughout the Nashville, TN Metro area. Backup support to neighboring territories may also be required.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide professional service promptly, respecting all customer on-site rules and regulations, including good housekeeping practices.
  2. Complete Work Orders and related documentation accurately and daily.
  3. Provide customers with documentation of work completed, such as Service Reports and Qualification Reports.
  4. Maintain an accurate daily schedule, communicate proactively with customers, and adapt to repairs.
  5. Notify management if schedules impact customer satisfaction or work completion.
  6. Maintain inventory accuracy and tools/test equipment in proper working order.
  7. Generate leads for hardware, consumables, and service contracts using CRM tools.
  8. Assist with custom system installations with support from supervisors or specialized teams.

This position may include overnight travel, additional territory coverage, and work outside normal hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Attributes:
  • Lifting up to 66 pounds unassisted; maneuvering up to 165 pounds with assistance.
  • Pushing and pulling force up to 60 pounds.
  • Various physical activities such as sitting, standing, reaching, bending, climbing, etc.
  • Occasional use of a respirator.
  • Visual acuity of 20/40 with color differentiation ability.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience or skills in field service, trades, or military electronics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electronics background and experience.
  • Ability to read technical documents.
  • Proficiency with tools and test equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable with documentation skills.
  • Basic IT skills and experience with field service software.
  • Ability to work independently.

Pay Range: $29-50/hour. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and potential incentives.
