Job summary

Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking a Field Services Technician to service and repair products in-store and on the road, helping tradespeople complete jobs efficiently.

You will diagnose small engines, source parts, perform repairs, and keep knowledge current on brands while following safety procedures. This full-time role requires travel up to 50% locally, strong customer communication, and reliable, organized service delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines (2-year certification preferred).
• Ability to clearly explain diagnosis and repair to customers.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical systems.
• Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 50% with possible overnight stays.
• Must observe safety and security procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of small engine theory (2 and 4 stroke).

Responsibilities

• Source & order parts for customers.

• Complete all reports and forms required with work assignments.
