Job summary

Stellar Energy is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver electrical, mechanical and automation support for our chilled water systems at client sites. You will read engineering drawings, troubleshoot PLCs, calibrate VFDs, perform system start-ups and training, and complete service reports with customers.

The role requires 75–90% travel nationwide and work in active industrial environments. This full-time, hourly position reports to the Senior Field Services Director and emphasizes safety,

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical field or equivalent.
• 3 years of mechanical, control, or electrical field services experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ladder logic related programming.
• Understanding of PLCs, sensors, and instrumentation.
• OSHA safety experience and field service readiness.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation products and VFDs.
• Experience with motor control centers up to 4160V.
• Calibration and troubleshooting of industrial instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings (P&IDs, loop sheets, wiring schematics, electrical one-lines, PLC ladder logic).
• Operate standard service tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Perform PLC I/O checkout and troubleshoot issues.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, and monitor VFDs and instrumentation.
• Perform moderately complex chilled water system start-ups.
• Execute preventative maintenance on chilled water components.
• Set up and program VFD parameters for proper operation.
• Provide customer training after commissioning.
• Complete daily Field Service Reports for Project Manager/VP Global Services.
• Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits.
