Job Description
Field Service Technician III
A senior level industrial maintenance position for Anchor Technical, an industrial plant performance contractor based in Fort Worth, Texas.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure all operations adhere to industry best practices for safety (by OSHA standards)
- Work independently or as part of a team with no supervision
- Responding to customer callouts and field dispatches as dispatched
- Serve customer relationships by understanding work order requests, investigating complaints, conducting tests, resolving problems, and communicating with customer representatives to coordinate maintenance activities
- Diagnose complex problems and perform maintenance, and repair faulty equipment for package handling systems in industrial settings
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance as needed
- Fabricate and install intermediate-level steel fabrication work
- Generate service reports that explain the work provided, parts used, and any follow-up needed. Complete timesheets, expense reports, and parts lists in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain an organized work vehicle with necessary tools, manuals, and parts required to provide efficient repairs and installations
- Use various tools and equipment, including test instruments, calibration equipment, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment, to perform maintenance tasks
- Mentor Field Service Technician I and II employees whenever possible
Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities, And Competencies
- Complete pre-employment skills evaluation consistent with Field Service Technician III capabilities
- Ability to provide safe, reliable, on-time, courteous service to customers
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems and automated equipment
- Intermediate electrical controls theory; ability to read electrical drawings and schematics to troubleshoot, repair, or replace components, and set up control devices
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, materials, tools, and equipment
- Ability to weld steel, including light gauge stainless steel, at an intermediate level
- Understanding of machines and systems including pneumatic, hydraulic, bearings, levers, channels, pulleys, cams, and camshafts
- Basic experience with Control systems using Allen Bradley, Siemens, and B&R PLCs
- Electromechanical experience with conveyance systems, sensors, electric motors, and their interactions
- Ability to detect faulty operation using senses and notify supervisors and customers
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) for fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, and attaching motors with precise tolerances
- Ability to interpret layouts, drawings, blueprints, P&ID’s, and technical specifications
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and handle items up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to understand, execute, and communicate instructions orally and in writing
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and travel to client locations
- Availability to be on call as required
Required Education, Training, And Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6-10 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician, related trade, or military training (electrical, mechanical, electronics)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; aptitude for learning specialized software
- Must obtain OSHA10-Construction certification within 90 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and pass pre-employment drug screen
