Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced HVAC field service technician to perform start-up, maintenance, and testing of cooling equipment at customer sites. You will troubleshoot refrigeration and electro-mechanical systems, read schematics, and support internal teams while maintaining accurate service documentation.

Responsibilities include on-site installations, on-call support, and travel to customer locations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, or related field with 2–5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC or refrigeration systems
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required
  • Advanced proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical documents
  • Strong analytical thinking with root-cause problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, timekeeping, and expense reporting systems
  • Valid driver's license for travel to customer sites and rental vehicles
  • Ability to participate in rotating on-call schedule
  • Ability to travel and provide on-site customer support

Responsibilities

  • Perform start-up, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of IT Cooling and electro-mechanical equipment at customer locations
  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration and electro-mechanical systems using schematics, drawings, and testing tools
  • Perform refrigerant tasks including leak detection, reclamation, evacuation, and charging of R410A systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical and control systems
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, partners, and end users
  • Test returned equipment and components to assess defects and readiness
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency field support
  • Maintain detailed documentation of service visits, repairs, and installations
  • Provide field assistance for power equipment installations and related activities
  • Submit timely and accurate expense reports per company policies
  • Collaborate with departments, suppliers, and customers

Job description

Requirements
