Job summary

AviHire in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform advanced maintenance and repair on aerospace and defense systems. You will lead installation and commissioning, troubleshoot with engineering, mentor junior technicians, and deliver training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.

The role requires regular travel, both domestic and international, and may involve deployments up to 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience as technician or related field.
• Willing to deploy travel outside CONUS.
• Must be able to obtain USG security clearance or already hold one.
• Pass pre-deployment medical assessment.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
• Experience using troubleshooting techniques.
• Understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
• Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods of time.
• Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
• Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
• Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
• Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.

• Ability to obtain a current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
• A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment. Applicants who do not currently have a USG security clearance are welcome to apply and, if selected, will be processed for a USG security clearance by SNC prior to employment. Employment will begin once the USG security clearance is granted. If applicant is unable to obtain USG security clearance, the offer of employment will be withdrawn.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Associate's degree in a related field of study.
• Experience with FCC or FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
• Prior experience with Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or A+.
• Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot Static equipment gauges.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
• Experience with software and firmware updates for technical equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
