Job Description
Field Service Technician II – West Coast US

Hourly Rate: $39-$43/hour, depending on experience
Eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal guidelines

Remote Position – West Coast US

Summary

The primary responsibility of the Field Service Technician is to travel to customer sites throughout the continental United States with a focus on the West Coast and provide repairs to Alma Lasers equipment, completing Preventative Maintenance as scheduled. This position may also involve level two technical troubleshooting with customers via phone.

This role is primarily focused on servicing our West Coast customers. We are seeking candidates residing in or near California, Arizona, or Utah.

This position is remote, and we are looking for qualified candidates who reside near the West Coast of the US. Join the amazing culture at Alma!

Essential Functions
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning medical instruments or equipment
  • Repair equipment following diagnosis
  • Read diagrams and schematics for full board swaps as needed
  • Test machines post-repair to ensure proper functioning
  • Maintain and complete all repair documentation
  • Provide Level 2 support via phone to customers and internal teams
  • Follow company safety and health policies
  • Perform low voltage electrical repairs using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other tools
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance, service calls, and installations
  • Collaborate with Client Relations team to resolve customer issues
  • Calibrate devices using specified test equipment
  • Mentor and assist other field service personnel
  • Create troubleshooting documents for the Client Relations team

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in electrical or electronic repair, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Field Service experience
  • Component level repair experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 certification preferred

  • Ability to read diagrams and schematics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no direct reports but involves mentoring peers and other departments as needed.

Work Environment

Work occurs in professional office settings and medical offices in the field, using standard office equipment and hand tools.

Physical Demands

Employees must occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. Visual requirements include various vision abilities.

Travel

This position requires 75-90% travel as needed.

Work Authorization

Proof of eligibility to work in the US is required.
