Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Field Service Technician II to join a leading wireless communications organization in St Paul, MN. The role installs, programs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains two-way radio and wireless communications systems while supporting customer infrastructure.

Responsibilities include configuring complex radio codeplugs, servicing RF hardware, and using professional test equipment to diagnose issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years installing, troubleshooting, repairing, programming, and maintaining two-way radio or wireless systems.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Background screening, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, dispatch consoles, DAS).
• Program and manage radio codeplugs with multi-zone and 12+ channel configurations.
• Service repeaters, antennas, duplexers, base stations, and RF infrastructure.
• Use spectrum analyzers, service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters to diagnose issues.
• Recommend hardware and communications solutions meeting customer requirements.

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician II to join a leading wireless communications organization in St Paul, MN. The Field Service Technician II will install, program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain two-way radio and wireless communications systems while supporting customer communication infrastructure.

Field Service Technician II Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wireless communications equipment including UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz radio systems, dispatch consoles, microwave systems, wireless broadband devices, CCTV, and BDA/DAS systems.
• Program and manage radio codeplugs, including multi-zone, trunked, and 12+ channel configurations.
• Perform service and support on repeaters, antennas, duplexers, multicouplers, base stations, and related RF infrastructure.
• Utilize communications test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters to diagnose and resolve system issues.
• Recommend hardware and communications solutions that meet customer operational requirements and provide exceptional customer support.

Field Service Technician II Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, programming, and maintaining two-way radio or wireless communications systems.
• Strong knowledge of RF theory, RF propagation, UHF, VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, repeaters, antennas, duplexers, multicouplers, and base station equipment.
• Experience programming radios and creating/editing radio codeplugs.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience with Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex, or similar communications equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles and IP-connected communications systems.
• Experience supporting or installing DAS/BDA systems preferred.
• Motorola, ETA, NICET, CET, OSHA, or other industry certifications are highly desirable

Field Service Technician II Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $39.00/hour, depending on experience
