Job summary

Renewable Energy Systems Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician I to assist senior technicians in operating and maintaining utility-scale solar facilities. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar panels, trackers, and inverters, and troubleshoot AC/DC power systems.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Electrical power systems: drawings and basic circuit theory
  • OSHA regulations

  • Must reside within 60 miles commuting distance from the work site.
  • Willing to work a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
  • Domestic travel 5-15% required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility-scale solar facilities.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and inverters.
  • Troubleshoot AC and DC power systems.
  • Follow site safety plan and safe work practices.
  • Interface with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
  • Interface with project subcontractors.
  • Respond to emergency calls within 1.5 hours identified as priority by Operations Control Center.
  • Operate RES company vehicles in compliance with laws and policies.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually; adhere to policies.
  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with safety and a quality attitude.

Summary:

The Field Service Technician I will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assetssuch as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

Requirements:

  • Takes direction from senior site personnel.
  • Assists with troubleshooting of AC and DC power systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
  • Uses hand tools effectively.
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
  • Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
  • Interfaces with project subcontractors.
  • Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
  • Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.
  • Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

Safety:

  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
  • Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.

Qualifications:

  • High school/GED General Education required.
  • 1+ years or moreRelated maintenanceexperiencepreferred.
  • Basic knowledge of:

      • Basic circuit theory
    • OSHA regulations

  • Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
  • Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.

Anticipated base salary range: $25.96 - $32.45

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
