The Field Service Technician I is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration/verification of Hach devices at customer sites. The customer base includes municipal (e.g., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (e.g., power plants, food and beverage plants).
This position is part of the North America Field Service Team, based in Sacramento, CA (or within 25 miles of downtown Sacramento), and will be remote.
Comprehensive 10-week training: 8 weeks in the field with a trainer & 2 weeks classroom training in Loveland, CO.
Post-training schedule: 4 shifts/week, 10-hour days, based on workload.
Company car (maintenance & fuel covered), cell phone, corporate credit card.

Perform preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and calibration/verification of instrumentation following company standards.
Provide a positive customer experience and serve as on-site contact for technical issues.
Submit accurate service reports impacting billing, inventory, and instrument history.
Follow safety practices as per company policy.
Perform administrative tasks related to service visits.
Travel 60-75% within a 2-hour radius around Southern California, with up to 8 nights away per month with company-paid accommodations and meals.
HS Diploma or equivalent required; Associate/Technical degree preferred, or combination of education and experience.
Basic mechanical aptitude is essential; experience with preventative maintenance and diagnostics is a plus but not required.
1+ years of field service or customer-facing experience preferred.
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
The salary range is $30.00 - $32.00 USD/hour, with eligibility for Incentive Pay. Benefits include paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
