Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled service technician to perform mechanical services on heavy equipment, both in the shop and at customer sites. You will diagnose, rebuild components, complete service reports, and ensure safety and quality while meeting time constraints.

The role requires a high school diploma with diesel repair training and 3 years of heavy equipment experience, including hydraulics and electronics. CDL may be required; overtime and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with diesel repair training preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years mechanical experience with heavy equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics, powertrain, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and interpret policies and warranties.
• Moderate computer skills and familiarity with office/database software.
• Strong customer service, listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs equipment in shop or at customer sites.
• Initiates and completes service paperwork and time tracking.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by meeting needs and schedules.
• Maintains vehicles, tools, and work areas in good order and safety.
• Performs site safety and housekeeping duties.
• Ensures equipment ready line condition after inspection and greasing.
• Completes repair orders and proper tagging of equipment.
• Keeps shop areas organized and professional.
