Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is seeking Field Service Technicians to service standby generators across the Northeast. You will work on engines, electrical systems, and heavy equipment while expanding your skills through specialized training.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and hands-on diagnostics with opportunities for advancement and a team‑oriented culture within a family‑owned business.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with standby generator systems.
• Experience with engines/electrical systems in industrial settings preferred.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose generator-related issues.
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic equipment.
• Comfort with creating accurate repair quotes and documenting work.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generators (8kW-1MW).
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, perform load-bank testing and start-ups on generators.
• Prepare accurate quotes for repairs and submit work orders.

Key Responsibilities and Preferred Experience:

• Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems (Ranging from 8kW‑1mW)


• Troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, load‑bank testing and start‑ups on generators


• Preparing accurate quotes for repairs and completing/submitting work orders


• Previous experience working on residential or industrial generators


• Exceptional communication and customer service skills


• The ability to participate in an on call, rotating schedule


• Must provide your own tools (multi‑meter, hand‑tools, etc.)


• Very safety focused with an OSHA 10 (or the ability to attain one)


• Valid DOT Card (or the ability to attain one) and a valid driver’s license
