Field Service Technician- Generator Division

Service Technicians are responsible for performing both shopand/or field repairs, maintenance service and troubleshooting ofdiesel and gas generators, including automatic transfer switches,batteries, and load banks.

*Hired candidates may be eligible for a Signing Bonus based onskill level and certifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform technical skills including but not limited to,mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair ofgenerators
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of generatorsboth during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, andholidays as directed
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenanceservice and/or repairs of generators
• Read and interpretoperational manuals, electrical schematics, universal generatorliterature, and work orders to perform required maintenance and/orrepairs
• Perform basic mathematical calculations
• Use avariety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handlingequipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations,defective material and report them and any other unusual situations tothe service manager in a timely manner
• Comply with safetyregulations and maintain clean and orderly shop work areas, companyvehicles, and job site work areas
• Drive company vehicle to andfrom job sites throughout the day. Overnight travel by land and/or airmay be required on occasion

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch,pulley, hoist and/or pallet jack
• May be required to tow atrailer, portable generator or load bank using Company vehicle

Experience and Skills

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (including physicaland work environment)

• Working knowledge of power generation systems and itscomponents, including knowledge of the mechanical operation,associated hazards, and proper usage of the equipment
• Abilityto interpret schematics and operational manuals for practicalapplication on repair and maintenance tasks
• Working knowledgeof fundamental mathematical operations
• Ability to takepreventative safety measures to avoid electrical shock, limit exposureto loud noises, and prevent personal injury by using personalprotective equipment, including the use of NFPA 70E protectiveequipment when applicable
• Skilled usage of mechanical toolsutilized to repair and maintain generators and their components
• Ability to perform duties in non-climate controlled environments suchas outdoor weather conditions and non-weather related wet, humidand/or extreme heat conditions
• Position requires extendedperiods of standing, extended periods of sitting while driving, aswell as bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling, crouching,climbing, and the use of hands to finger, grasp, handle and feel oftenin repetitive motion
• Ability to handle heavy work - exerting upto 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
• Requires the ability to speak in a manner that conveys detailed orimportant instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Abilityto hear by receiving detailed verbal information or by makingdistinction in sounds at normal speaking levels with or withoutcorrection.
• Visual sharpness to operate motor vehicles andheavy equipment in a safe manner with or without correction.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)

• High School or equivalent (GED)
• 3 - 5 years of relatedwork experience or training or equivalent combination of botheducation and experience
• Motor Vehicle Record must be in goodstanding and comply with Company policy
• Experience on Generac, Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, Aksa, BlueStar, Taylor generators are a plus
