Job summary

USA Compression is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair natural gas compression equipment in the Midland, TX area. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and responsive service in remote field environments.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, startups/shutdowns, and accurate reporting. The position requires on-site work, basic tools, and willingness for on-call rotations and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Solid customer communication/interaction skills with field personnel and vendors.
• Mechanical aptitude with engines, rotating equipment or heavy machinery.
• Ability to read/interpret technical manuals, schematics and service bulletins.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor, remote environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on natural gas compression equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Complete startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment performance and operating conditions; identify abnormal trends.
• Submit accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, and timesheets daily.
• Follow safety policies, procedures, and environmental guidelines.
