Job summary

Abel Womack is seeking skilled Field Service Technicians to join our team in the East Haddam, CT area. You’ll work on electric vehicles and automated equipment, traveling within a defined territory to install, maintain and repair Raymond battery-powered lift trucks and related material handling systems.

A company vehicle is provided and extensive training is offered. We value professional service, strong customer relationships, and continuous skill development.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience with electrical fuel systems, sensor technology, hydraulics, PLCs, or charging systems (a plus).
• Read schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals.
• Communicate regularly by phone and in person with team members, parts representatives, technical specialists, dispatch, lead service techs, and customers, required.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and build positive customer relationships by delivering excellent service.
• Must provide your own basic mechanic tools; specialty tools will be provided.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly.

Responsibilities

• Travel within an assigned territory to install, maintain, and repair Raymond battery-powered lift trucks along with working on warehouse storage systems, conveyors, carousels, and other automated material handling equipment.
• Work directly with our customers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment challenges.
• Apply and grow your mechanical and technical skills through continuous training.
• Submit electronic work orders efficiently using a company-provided tablet.
• Represent Abel Womack with professionalism and excellent customer service.

• Experience with electrical fuel systems, sensor technology, hydraulics, PLCs, or charging systems (a plus)
• Ability to read schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals
• Ability to communicate regularly by phone and in person with team members, parts representatives, technical specialists, dispatch, lead service techs, and customers, required
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional demeanor and build positive customer relationships by consistently delivering excellent customer service
• Must provide your own basic mechanic tools; specialty tools will be provided
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly
