Job summary

Ellis Machinery & Equipment Inc is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician in Oregon to deliver installation, maintenance and repair services for high‑performance CNC machine tools. You will troubleshoot, train clients and document activities, ensuring safe, optimal machine operation.

Requires 2+ years in field service, knowledge of CNC programming, PLCs, servo drives and control systems; willingness to travel regionally; driving license and passport are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Field Service Engineer or Technician working with CNC Machines.
• Knowledge of CNC programming, PLCs, servo drives, and control systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to read blueprints, schematics and use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installations, preventative maintenance and repairs on CNC Machine Tools, including diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, minimizing downtime for customers.
• Provide training and technical support to clients, ensuring optimal machine performance and safety.
• Document service activities, parts usage, and recommendations in our CRM system.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to identify opportunities and continuous improvements.
• Adhere to company and industry safety standards.
• Travel within Oregon and occasionally beyond to customer sites.

Qualified Applicants Should Know/experience In

• 2+ years as a Field Service Engineer or Technician working with CNC Machines. (Working with Makino, YCM, Fanuc preferable).
• Knowledge of CNC programming, PLCs, servo drives, and control systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to read blueprints, schematics and use diagnostic tools.

Qualifications Also Include

• Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a US Passport or equivalent.
• Must have your own reliable transportation and be willing to travel local/regional.
• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
