Job summary

Cozzini, LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site service and technical support for customers across North America from our Elk Grove Village, Illinois base. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical work, installing, servicing, and optimizing food processing equipment while building strong customer relationships and ensuring high uptime.

• 1+ year field service experience in food/meat processing
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
• Familiarity with PLCs and control systems
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
• Ability to work independently and manage travel-based assignments
• Willingness to travel extensively, including after-hours
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Install, setup, commissioning and startup activities at customer sites
• Conduct operational testing and verify equipment performance prior to customer acceptance
• Support equipment launches, production runs, and process validation activities
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems
• Troubleshoot PLC-based machinery and collaborate with engineering or technical support teams on advanced issues
• Respond to urgent service requests and provide support during critical production events
• Analyze recurring equipment concerns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Complete preventive maintenance services and equipment inspections to improve reliability and reduce downtime
• Recommend repair strategies, equipment modifications, and maintenance improvements
• Provide remote troubleshooting assistance through phone, email, and virtual support channels
• Instruct customer operators and maintenance teams on equipment operation, safety protocols, troubleshooting methods, and maintenance procedures
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while delivering professional service and support
• Serve as a technical partner focused on improving customer productivity, efficiency, and equipment uptime
• Accurately document service work, installations, inspections, and maintenance activities
• Maintain assigned tools, service equipment, and replacement parts inventory
• Follow all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA requirements and Lockout/Tagout procedures, as well as customer-specific safety standards

We are currently looking for a motivated Field Service Technician to provide technical support and on-site service for customers throughout North America.
