Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Field Service Engineer Control Systems to install and maintain our machines at customer sites. The role emphasizes electrical cabinet work, PLC troubleshooting, and hands-on problem solving while traveling to locations to complete installations.

Applicants should have a relevant engineering degree and experience with electrical cabinets or software installation. A strong customer-facing attitude, flexibility, and travel readiness are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute the controls (electrical cabinets/software/PLC) part of installation jobs.
• Conduct service visits and troubleshoot production issues at customer sites.
• Supervise local staff on larger installation projects.
• Report progress to customers and maintain clear communication.
• Train customers and colleagues; document outcomes and lessons learned.
• Prepare next projects and report on completed work.

As a Field Service Engineer Control Systems at JBT Marel, your most important responsibility is to install and maintain our machines at our customers. Customer satisfaction, preparation, executing the job, and reporting are important characteristics in this job. Having a strong electrical background and troubleshooting skills are essential for the job.

On a Given Day, You May

• Prepare and execute the controls (electrical cabinets/software/PLC) part of installation-jobs.
• Conduct service visits.
• Troubleshoot production issues at customers' sites.
• Supervise local employees in larger installation projects.
• Keep in touch with, and report to the customer about the progress.
• Train the customer, colleagues and feedback results.
• Preparing your next project(s) and reporting on completed projects.
• Personal and technical trainings, both in the office and on the job.
• Regular meetings with your manager and the team.

What We Are Looking For

You are passionate about technology, like to travel and have a real service attitude. You are independent, flexible and stress resilient. Furthermore, you like to work hands‑on, have an analytical mind and strong problem‑solving skills.

Have a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or automation engineering, or a vocational level degree in the same area with several years of relevant experience.

Have experience with or an interest in electrical cabinet (re)build, software installation/configuration, and/or troubleshooting PLCs.

Affinity with process engineering and/or food production is also a plus.

Are willing to travel (~65-80%).

Since we are looking for several Field Service Engineers, both young graduates and experienced candidates are more than welcome to apply.

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $35.00 - $40.00 an hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
