Job summary

Eos Energy Enterprises is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, commission, and support our BESS systems at customer sites. You will troubleshoot, repair, and analyze performance, writing reports and training customers as needed.

Role requires extensive travel (up to 100%), strong communication, and safety-focused execution in high-voltage environments. NFPA70E training and renewable energy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/vocational training preferred.
• 1–3 years field experience in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics or network communications recommended.
• Experience in renewable energy or energy storage is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair and analyze BESS in field and remote environments.
• Write reports, train customers, and respond to concerns regarding system performance.
• Perform acceptance and performance testing, startup/shutdown, and turnarounds as needed.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 100% for site installations.

Reviewing and resolving warranty claims and assisting customers with non-warranty issues. The technician is also responsible for supporting services and maintenance of existing systems.ResponsibilitiesInstall, commission, troubleshoot, repair and analyze Eos commercial BESS as well as third-party products sold by Eos in the field, remote via email, telephone and remote support tools (i.e. AR remote support tools), and site visits.Utilize company provided Field Service and Work Order Management tools to retrieve and update information timely and accurately.Write reports, train customers, and respond to customers’ concerns regarding the functionality and performance of their system.Develop detailed knowledge of Eos’ commercial products and third-party products sold by Eos.Acceptance & performance testing, troubleshooting, installation, startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and turnarounds of BESS.On a regular base work with high voltage DC electricity, three phase power, and the relevant software of the BESS and third part products.Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to work independently, but may collaborate with Sr. FSTs and Engineers.Ability to communicate challenges in a forthright and accurate manner.Solid Computer skills: Windows, Office, Programming (PLC, controls experience a plus)Awareness of electrical, crane, forklift and construction work safety.Understanding of DC Electrical systems and controls.Knowledge using electrical voltage meters and electrical testing equipment.Exceptional communication skills: ability to lead by example and through influence.Ability to travel domestically and internationally and work at field installations up to 100% of working time for up to three weeks at a time.Ability to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently.Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of one to three (1-3) year of (field) experience in Electrical/Electronics/Power electronics and or network communications is recommended.Trade or vocational college focusing on electrical work/renewable energy/electronics preferred.Prior experience in the renewable industry, preferable energy storage, is strongly preferred.Experience in applied problem-solving methodology.Electrical safety training, NFPA70E or similar.Medium Voltage/ Substation experience is a plus.Travel100%: Local, Overnight/North America, InternationalWorking ConditionsOffice Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
