Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a Construction Equipment Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a full line of construction equipment. The role requires diagnosing complex issues, reading schematics, and maintaining OEM standards.

The technician will build relationships with customers, vendors and factories, prepare quotes with detailed repair scopes, and meet DOT inspection requirements. A Class A CDL is preferred, with overtime on occasion.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction equipment repair experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to provide basic hand tools.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Stamina, attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Vocational training or apprenticeship helpful.
• Ability to follow OEM specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a full line of construction equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot minor and major repairs.
• Read electrical and hydraulic schematics, service and parts diagrams.
• Build and maintain customer, vendor and factory relationships.
• Prepare detailed parts and labor repair scopes for quoting.
• Read and understand schematics and blueprints.
• Work with Service and Parts teams; communicate effectively.
• Occasional overtime and on-call duty as required.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
