Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Santa Fe Springs, CA, is seeking a Field Service Technician Class A to lead transformer service projects nationwide.

You will guide field crews, coordinate with customers, and perform installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and modernization of power transformers and reactors. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership, safety focus, and mentoring of technicians.

Formación

• Associate degree with 3+ years of professional experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of transformer field service operations, maintenance, and electrical testing.
• Experience with transformer installation, vacuum and oil processing, and transformer internal components.
• Ability to work independently in demanding field environments and lead technical teams safely and effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 85%.
• Experience with Load Tap Changer (LTC) maintenance, transformer welding, or a Class A CDL is preferred.

• Conduct advanced electrical testing including TTR, winding resistance, insulation testing, SFRA, DFR, and control cabinet functional checks.
• Support project planning activities by providing technical expertise on schedules, manpower requirements, and field execution strategies.
• Identify project challenges, nonconformances, and improvement opportunities, escalating issues for timely resolution.
• Train and mentor technicians while fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
