Proudly serving the oil and gas industry, CherCo provides aftermarket services, leasing, sales, parts, and service of natural gas compression equipment.
POSITION SUMMARY:
CherCo is seeking motivated personnel for full-time Service Technicians throughout the Permian Basin - New Mexico. This position involves troubleshooting, routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on natural gas engines and compressors. Experience with Caterpillar 3500/3600, Waukesha 7044 is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform scheduled preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression units.
- Represent the company professionally and provide outstanding customer service.
- Submit accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other paperwork daily.
- Manage inventory, including parts and tools, to ensure adequate supply without excess or shrinkage.
- Diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls in the shop.
- Respond to recurring problems and emergency services as needed.
- Coordinate setting of new units and conduct start-up testing.
- Perform other mechanical and electrical duties related to natural gas compressor systems.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENTS):
- Knowledge of machines, tools, materials, methods involved in construction or repair of compression units.
- Motivated self-starter capable of working independently.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
- Ability to write clearly, edit for spelling and grammar, and interpret written information.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service, assess needs, and evaluate satisfaction.
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management, and complete tasks responsibly.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED, with 1-5+ years of related experience or training, or equivalent.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
