Job summary

Korn Ferry is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our client’s team in the Columbus, OH area. The role involves significant regional travel (about 50% weekly) and requires residing within 50–60 miles of Columbus.

The position offers hourly pay and on-call/OT opportunities, with emphasis on equipment maintenance, installation support, and customer satisfaction. A strong mechanical and electrical background is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years US Military experience required.
• Mechanical background with understanding of AC and DC circuits, generators.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance on equipment (frequency converters, diesel controls, switchgear, battery systems).
• Assemble, disassemble, test, and commission systems as needed.
• Provide customer service by analyzing equipment performance and attending meetings.
• Diagnose issues and document problems with recommended repairs.
• Perform direct maintenance for complex equipment problems as needed.
• Maintain inventory for tools, parts, and kits and support start-up installations.
