Job summary

Black Diamond Group is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Pecos, TX area. The role is on-site with a 10/10 rotation and on-site accommodations provided.

You will maintain and repair equipment, service camps and well sites, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience across plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating systems, and HVAC, with strong communication and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Certified in H2S, Standard First Aid, and Fall Arrest is a strong asset.
• HVAC experience is considered a strong asset.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide a satisfactory driver abstract.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and site access drug tests when required.
• Previous camp/modular building maintenance experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating systems, and site maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on rental fleet and equipment at yards and client sites.
• Set up and tear down camps, well sites, and sleepers.
• Conduct plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and finishing work as needed.
• Service generators and other mechanical equipment; perform oil changes.
• Track tools and ensure truck is clean and in good condition.
• Complete paperwork related to assigned work and upload safety documentation.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
• Travel frequently to client sites and work on-site shifts.

We are seeking a full-time Field Service Technician to join our team in Pecos, Texas. This position operates on a 10-days-on / 10-days-off rotational schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance. During your scheduled work rotation, on-site accommodations are provided.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys working in the field, troubleshooting equipment, and delivering exceptional service in a dynamic environment.

Reporting to the Field Superintendent, the Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing our equipment while delivering first-class customer service. The expectations for fast and professional service will be the highest, as you will be the face-to-face representative and contact with our customers in the field.

The ideal candidate will have a variety of maintenance and repair skills related to buildings, ranging from carpentry (no certification required) to basic plumbing and electrical work. They will also have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work within a team and independently. Previous camp/modular building maintenance and repair experience is a strong asset.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on our rental fleet – includes surface rental and accommodation equipment both in our yard and on customer sites, including:
• Set up and tear down camps, well sites, and sleepers
• Plumbing repairs
• Heating and HVAC repairs
• Electrical repairs
• Carpentry repairs
• Finishing work
• Satellite wiring and setup
• Oil changes and servicing of Generators and other mechanical equipment
• Operating heavy Equipment In the yardTrack all tools assigned to the company truck; track rental equipment using computer programs
• Ensure the truck assigned is clean and in working order
• Complete appropriate paperwork related to assigned work
• Document and upload all safety work
• Follow all Black Diamond’s policies and procedures, including safety policies
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and high attention to detail
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to provide a satisfactory driver abstract
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and site access drug tests when required
• Previous camp/modular building maintenance experience and technical ability to carry out work orders
• Mechanical Skills are an asset
• Knowledge of and capability to complete tasks relating to general painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating systems, and site maintenance
• Ability to stay on-site for shift; camp accommodations provided
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
• An ability to communicate professionally with clients, staff, and management

Working Conditions

• Working inside and outside in all weather conditions
• Frequent travel to customer sites

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to complete physically demanding duties, including but not limited to standing for long periods, repetitive movement, and lifting
• Working at heights required for repair work
