Job summary

Taldeco is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, assemble, troubleshoot, and commission industrial heat-treating equipment at customer sites across the United States. You will rig, position, startup systems, and perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics with a focus on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, assembling, rigging, positioning, and startup of industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance skills.
• Experience with mechanical systems, electrical components, piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, motors, or controls.
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, stick).
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
• Experience commissioning equipment, verifying operation, documenting issues, and making field adjustments.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and travel ~90% nationwide.
• Strong communication with customers; prior traveling field service or installation preferred.
• Direct heat-treating equipment experience beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, troubleshoot, and commission heat-treating equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on installed equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and manuals to support service interventions.
• Document issues and field adjustments with clear notes and photos.
• Travel up to 90% across the United States with some international travel.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

Prioritize candidates with experience as industrial maintenance technicians, traveling millwrights, field service technicians, machinery installers, machine builders, industrial mechanics, or industrial equipment service technicians.Key experience to prioritize:Hands-on installation, assembly, rigging, positioning, and startup of industrial machinery.Mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.Experience working with mechanical systems, electrical components, industrial piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, motors, or controls.Welding and fabrication experience, especially MIG, TIG, and stick welding.Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.Experience commissioning equipment, verifying system operation, documenting issues, and making field adjustments.Ability to work independently at customer sites, resolve technical issues, and communicate professionally with customers.Travel requirements: Candidates must be willing and able to travel approximately 90% of the time, primarily throughout the United States, with occasional international travel. Prior traveling field service or industrial installation experience is strongly preferred.Ideal candidate backgrounds: Traveling millwrights, industrial machinery installers, machine builders, industrial maintenance technicians, field service technicians, industrial mechanics, and technicians who install or service manufacturing equipment.Prioritize candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on industrial experience, welding ability, and extensive-travel availability.
