Job summary

Ralliant is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver world-class service across the Midwest. This 100% travel role requires independent management of schedules, strong problem-solving, and adherence to DOT and safety standards.

You will travel five days a week, work from customer sites, and support growth with a customer-focused approach. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), electrical/mechanical aptitude, and ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate degree or two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude required and DOT compliance knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a customer focus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field calibration, troubleshooting, and repair services on all products at customer locations.
  • Operate profitably within an assigned territory and capture sales leads for growth.
  • Build customer loyalty and expand business relationships within the territory.
  • Document and report service work, including billing and expenses.
  • Maintain the company service truck and equipment per regulations.
  • Comply with DOT regulations for operating and inspecting company vehicles.
  • Safely tow, back up, maneuver, and service trailers in diverse environments.

Field Service Technician

Looking for an opportunity to make an impact in a growing industry?

Our Field Service Technicians deliver world‑class service to a growing portfolio of customers, supporting Anderson Negele's industry‑leading instrumentation solutions.

This is a 100% travel, field‑based role. Candidates can be located in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa or Northwest Illinois. Work is performed full time at customer locations throughout the Midwest region ( WI/MN/MI/ND&SD /IA/IL), with Technicians on the road five days a week and frequent overnight travel. Technicians may also travel to other regions across the United States on occasion to support business needs. Time working from home is limited to administrative tasks.

This is a highly autonomous position where you will independently manage your schedule, serve as the primary technical resource for customers, and contribute directly to territory growth and profitability. The role includes use of a company service truck. Prior field service or travel‑intensive experience is strongly preferred.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Perform field calibration, troubleshooting, and repair services on all Anderson Negele products at customer locations.
  • Operate profitably within an assigned territory, identifying and capturing sales leads in support of aggressive growth objectives.
  • Build customer loyalty and expand business relationships within the territory.
  • Accurately document and report all service work performed, including billing and expense reports.
  • Maintain a company service truck and equipment in full compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations related to operating, maintaining, and inspecting a company service truck.
  • Safely haul, back up, maneuver, and service equipment trailers in a variety of customer, industrial, and field environments.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you.
What You Bring:
  • High school diploma required; associate degree or two‑year technical degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Prior field‑based experience in a travel‑intensive role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel) and the ability to learn additional systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving skills, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet all DOT requirements, including those related to operating and inspecting company vehicles.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely tow, back, maneuver, and service trailers in customer and field locations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time throughout the Midwest region, including frequent overnight travel, with occasional travel to other regions in the U.S. as business needs arise.
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs.
