Job summary

Premium Oilfield Technologies seeks a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support oilfield equipment in Williston, ND. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical aptitude, on-site problem solving, and the ability to travel between rigs as needed.

Ideal candidates bring a 2-year technical degree (or equivalent), 2+ years in the field, and experience with Top Drive systems and PLC/HMI tools. Flexibility for 24/7 shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ field or related experience.
• Preferred Top Drive mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for Top Drive equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership potential.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic familiarity with AC/DC drives.
• Highly organized and able to handle stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety by completing JSAs, inspections, and keeping a tidy shop.
• Follow SOPs for tasks, perform pre- and post-job inspections, address non-conformities.
• Perform vehicle maintenance and safety training; cross-train during non-billable hours.
• Complete accurate paperwork, track inventory, and maintain tools.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics for Top Drive systems.
• Use hand tools, oscilloscopes, and multimeters effectively.
• Work with PLCs and HMI software (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, PanelView).
• Familiarity with Ethernet and Modbus communications.
• Be on-call per rotation; maintain rig inventory and expendables.
• Drive between rigs to inspect, service, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Handle customer billing and de-escalate situations as needed.
• Communicate work plans and updates with company personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain workplace safety by completing JSAs, conducting equipment inspections, and maintaining an orderly shop environment

Requirements
