Job description

C & B Material Handling, LLC (part of the C & B Equipment family), a leader and supplier of choice in material handling equipment, automation solutions, and industrial equipment rental, is seeking a Material Handling Forklift Service Technician for our location in Richmond, Virginia. This position involves working within the Richmond territory, reporting from home daily, and ensuring the highest quality of service for our material handling equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on a variety of material handling equipment.
  • Engage in training programs necessary for the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge on all our products.
  • Keep a clean work area and conduct work in an orderly fashion.
  • Manage the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Load and unload equipment as requested.
  • Promote and sell the service department’s offerings to customers, including service work, inspections, and parts, to enhance customer safety and satisfaction.
  • Mentor other service technicians with less experience.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in operating and diagnosing material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques used for equipment repair.
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Willingness to travel for job assignments.
  • Associate’s degree or progress towards a Diesel Technology degree or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands and duration of exertion required for all job functions.
