Job summary

Xylem is hiring a Level 1 Field Technician in the United States. You will perform start-up, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of submersible pumps and control panels at customer sites.

Travel is daily with up to 50% overnight stays; PPE required in industrial environments. We offer a full benefits package including 4 weeks PTO for hourly roles, medical/dental/vision, retirement savings with company contribution, paid time off, parental leave, and tuition

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 0 to 2 years of technical work experience, 1 year preferred.
• Electrical and mechanical inclination.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and troubleshooting ability.
• Communicate technical information clearly.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Level 1 Field Technician will be responsible for start-up and commissioning of projects, preventative maintenance, and basic submersible wastewater pump (Flygt) and control panel troubleshoot ing at customer site s. Product specific training will be provided. Will interact with customer s .

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily after sufficient training provided.

• Evaluate , repair , and conduct hydraulic , mechanical, and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps
• Basic troubleshooting of electrical control panels
• Basic understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
• Assist with start-ups and emergency call-outs
• Operating and maintaining a service truck with crane and out-riggers
• Operating industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
• Working with various company provided hand and power tools
• Accurate record keeping inside Xylem's work order management system
• Create and maintain a safe and organized working environment and culture within the organization and following protocols at customer locations
• Take care of company property
• Demonstrates high impact culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment
• Must be able to function in a team environment
• Usually works with direct supervision but can work independently if needed

Travel Requirements

• Daily local travel required
• Up to 50% overnight stays , depending on location

DAY IN THE LIFE

In this role, the working environment is frequently outdoors at customer locations or in an industrial shop setting where use of PPE is required. May also include e xposure to various environmental factors, hazardous material s, including sewage , and loud noise s. T he physical demands may include but not limited to driving, standing , possible exposure to heights and lifting up to 50 lbs , In addition, this role may require overtime and travel.

SALARY

The estimated salary range for this position is $32.19 to $42.02 . Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
