Job summary

Pacific Northern Environmental LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to join Taurus Power and Controls. The role focuses on startup, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control equipment for our clients across the Pacific Northwest.

Ideal candidates have an AAS in instrumentation or related field and 2–5 years' experience in industrial settings. Travel, occasional after-hours work, and a safety-conscious mindset are required.

Qualifications

• AAS degree in instrumentation, mechatronics, or industrial electronics.
• 2–5 years of field service experience.
• Understanding hazards around electrical circuits.
• Customer relation, report writing, and self-starter mentality.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and testing on instrumentation, VFDs, Emergency Lighting Inverters, PLCs and other industrial control equipment.
• Identify problems as they arise and troubleshoot failures.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed; overtime available.
• Have reliable transportation to travel to and from client sites.
• Occasionally travel to out-of-area jobs up to two weeks; most work locally in OR/WA/ID.

Job Summary

Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.

Taurus is a NETA Accredited Company that offers full-service, third party, independent testing for all electrically powered systems and equipment. We have expertise in a wide array of systems and industries, whether it’s servicing projects we developed, or systems built by others.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for having the Ability and knowledge to preform start-up and testing services on Instrumentation, VFD’s, Emergency Lighting Inverters, PLC's and other industrial control equipment

Education and Experience Qualifications

• Previous employment involving troubleshooting of industrial devices
• AAS Degree in Instrumentation, mechatronics, or industrial electronics
• Understanding hazards around electrical circuits
• Customer relation and communication skills, report writing, self-starter mentality
• 2-5 years’ experience in similar field
• Familiarity and experience working on any of the following equipment:
  • VFD’s
  • PLC’s
  • DC Drives
  • Instrumentation (Flow sensors/meters, Level sensors/meters, etc…)
  • UPS’s, battery systems, lighting inverters

Duties and Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

• Ability and knowledge to Preform Start-up and testing services on Instrumentation, VFD’s, Emergency Lighting Inverters, PLC's and other industrial control equipment
• Identify problems as they arise and troubleshoot failure in the above mentioned items
• Ability to work independently when required
• Flexibility in working hours required: work is typically 8am - 5pm during the week but occasionally after hours and weekends is required by our customers. Overtime hours available.
• Have reliable transportation to travel to and from office or a customer’s site
• Flexibility to travel to out of area jobs for up to a two-week duration. Most of our work is local but occasionally work takes place at a customer’s site within Oregon, Washington, or Idaho.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Move about the jobsite as needed.
• Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
• Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
• Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs.
