Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance of rotating equipment, including pumps, gear boxes, valves, blowers, and vacuum pumps. The services may be performed in our repair facility located in West Springfield, MA or may be completed in the field at a customer’s facility. The Technician must maintain a safe and clean work area.

  1. Completes initial inspection and required paperwork for all items to be repaired or serviced.
  2. Disassembles equipment while marking items and documenting current condition.
  3. Sand blasts and paints items as required.
  4. Helps identify items needed for repair.
  5. Measures all required parts for inspection reports.
  6. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products; uses precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make measurements.
  7. Assembles equipment per manufacturer specifications verifying acceptable tolerances are achieved.
  8. Assists customers with tasks related to current equipment including pump removal, pump install, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lube maintenance, and others.
  9. Maintains and completes required paperwork and time sheet.
  10. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.
  11. Cleans up shop and performs other duties as assigned.
  12. Ability to operate a forklift.
  13. Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  14. Customer service and consultative skills.
  15. Strong work ethic with ability to work under minimal supervision.
  16. Verbal and written communication skills, with ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical support, sales, and management.
  17. Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  2. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  3. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Travel: Travel will be local. There may be times where overnight travel is required but that will be an exception.
