Job summary

WGNSTAR in Sparks, NV seeks a hands-on technician to support PLC systems and automated equipment. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software, analyze system errors, and interact with multi-national teams while following safety protocols.

Qualifications include 1–2 years in electrical diagnostics, ability to read schematics, and proficiency with MS Office. Technical School or Military Certification preferred; no degree required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints and diagnose/troubleshoot electromechanical devices.
• Team player with flexibility for compressed work weeks.
• PC skills including MS Office, Excel, Windows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and resolve PLC-related issues.
• Perform routine installations and/or maintenance on assigned products; analyze system errors during qualification and test.
• Train on-the-job internal technicians in operation, installation and troubleshooting of products.
• Interact with internal teams and multi-national and multi-language groups to understand technical information.
• Prepare and submit paperwork and status reports; input data to QA/QC check sheets and report to Installation Site Manager.
• Attend daily field meetings; work with minimal supervision and provide technical solutions to engineering groups.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and keep complete records of all equipment work.
• Wear PPE as required for health and safety.

Schedule: M-F (7:00am-4:00pm) 1hr lunch

Pay Rate: $26-$29/hr

Location: Sparks, NV

Position Type: Full-time

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify and resolve PLC-related issues.
• Perform routine installations and/or maintenance on assigned products. Perform log analysis of system errors during Qualification and test.
• Assist on-the-job training to the internal technician in routine operation, installation, and troubleshooting of assigned products. Effectively troubleshoot issues for both hardware and software.
• Professionally interact with and understand technical information from the internal team and multi-national and multi-language teams.
• Prepare and submit all necessary paperwork and Status Reporting with supervision. Input data to the QA / QC check sheet, create a report, and submit it to the Installation Site Manager.
• Attend daily field meetings. Work with minimum supervision, as needed, and recommend technical solutions/resolutions to engineering groups.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines according to documented requirements. Make continuing visual and audible observations of the machines to detect any abnormalities. Maintain complete and accurate records of all work done on the equipment and machines.
• To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a requirement and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, a face mask, and a hard hat.

Requirements

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems to ensure efficient operation of automated equipment.
• Technical School or Military Certification is preferred. No degree required.
• 1 -2 yearsof knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and shop/hand tools. Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints and diagnose/troubleshoot electromechanical devices.
• Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player. Flexible and willing to work a compressed work week. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to work with heights (Ladder, Scissor lift, Etc.)
• Working knowledge of Digital Voltmeter and Oscilloscope functionality. PC skills (MS Office, Excel, Windows)

Physical Effort/Activities

May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, able to be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, able to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50-75 pounds. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
