Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Clean Harbors in South Portland, ME is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety-conscious team. This role involves active fieldwork responsible for hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize health and safety by following policies and acting safely at all times.
• Perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment, hand tools, and powered industrial tools.
• Use and maintain proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work in various weather conditions and environments, including confined spaces and at heights.
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
• Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into/out of trucks and containers.
• Work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, especially during emergency responses.
• Conduct inspections, waste loading/unloading, sampling, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Operate vehicles according to DOT and other regulations.
• Attend safety and compliance meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

Required:

• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as outlined.
• Willingness to participate in emergency response, including working extended hours.
• Successful background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Compliance with OSHA respirator standards if applicable.

Preferred:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Relevant labor experience.
