Job summary

Acorn Stairlifts Inc. is seeking dependable Field Service Technicians to diagnose, repair, install and maintain stairlift systems in customers’ homes.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, deliver quality workmanship, and explain operating instructions to customers. Role involves working independently in a defined territory, managing schedules, documenting work orders, and communicating via company mobile tools.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps for scheduling, documentation and communication.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Technical & Service Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain Acorn stairlift systems in customers’ homes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual safety inspections while ensuring high-quality, reliable workmanship.

Customer & Field Operations

• Provide professional customer service by explaining repairs, equipment operation, and maintenance recommendations.
• Work independently throughout an assigned territory while managing schedules, work orders, documentation, and communication using a company-provided mobile device.

Vehicle, Inventory & Safety

• Maintain an organized company vehicle and accurately manage parts inventory to ensure supplies are available when needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment while representing Acorn Stairlifts with professionalism and integrity.

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude, with experience in field service, automotive repair, HVAC, appliance repair, maintenance, construction, or other technical trades preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work comfortably in residential homes.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Ability to manage daily workloads, prioritize multiple service calls, and work independently.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
