Job Description Summary

Field Service Support Technician will perform Installation, Commissioning, Electromechanical Troubleshooting, Repair/Adjustments, and Modifications to GE High Voltage Circuit Breakers, Disconnect Switches, and Capacitor Banks.

Responsibilities

• Perform Installation and initial start-ups.
• Perform mechanical work in electrical substations. Inspect equipment, structures, and materials at designated sites to identify errors, problems, or defects.
• Service, repair, and adjust parts of equipment that operate based on mechanical principles.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to select the best solution and resolve customer issues.
• Perform physical activities requiring dexterity and agility.
• Support GE Factory Production and other departments as needed.
• Operate man lifts and reach forklifts.
• Supervise and direct contractors, customer personnel, and junior GE Field Technicians.
• Complete paperwork timely and accurately, including Field Service Reports, timecards, and expense reports.
• Interface between GE and Customer.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, with preference for field experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% within the US and abroad via air and car.

Desired Characteristics

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits.
• Experience in mechanical assembly of circuit breakers.
