The Opening

We are currently seeking an Emergency Response Environmental Technician based in Olathe, KS, to assist with hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. The role requires the ability to work on call 24/7, 365 days a year.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring health and safety by following PROS procedures
• Performing non-emergency and emergency response activities with hazardous materials
• Labor-intensive activities in all weather conditions
• Working in confined spaces, low clearances, and at heights
• Operating light and heavy equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and pressure washers
• Routine inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment
• Warehouse and building maintenance
• Availability for emergency response work after-hours and on weekends
• Occasional travel may be required
• Maintaining an excellent driving record (mandatory)
• Responding within 60 minutes to Olathe, KS, as required

What does it take to work at Environmental Restoration?

• Passing a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and physical exam
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. (verified through E-Verify)
• Willingness to obtain OSHA 40-hour certification (reimbursement available)
• Ability and willingness to work in physically demanding roles
• Ability to wear PPE, including respiratory protection
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to interpret and follow written and oral instructions

Environmental experience, hazardous waste experience, and certifications like OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER, CDL, and heavy equipment operation are a plus.
