Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions seeks a Water Treatment Operator in New York to manage operations and maintenance of ultra-pure water systems. Responsibilities include conducting analytical testing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with site teams. Ideal candidates will possess extensive service experience or relevant technical degrees, ensuring high operational standards and safety regulations.
The Water Treatment Operator will be responsible for system operations & reliability, regulatory compliance, and maintenance of ultra-pure water plant equipment, instrumentation and associated equipment, while developing site specific procedures for operations and safety. Operator will also have on-call responsibilities.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
-Conduct operations, maintenance and calibration activities on various treatment plant instrumentation
-Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements.
-Carry out mechanical, electrical, process and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors pumps, blowers, instrumentation, and automation hardware
-Ensure Utilization of proper procedures and equipment when handling chemicals, examples of chemicals handled: Citric Acid, HCl, NaOH, Sulphuric Acid.
-Communicate with site team, other customer operators, Field Manager, Environmental Health and Safety, sales, engineering, logistics, outside contractors and plant operators regarding equipment and operations regularly
Required Characteristics:
-High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent and 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment
OR
-Bachelor or Associates Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls or programming and/or water treatment equipment including UF/MBR Working experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming and troubleshooting is preferred
-Ability to meet all customer site requirements

Desired Characteristics:
-Bachelor's Degree (Chemistry, CE, EE, ME, IE or Environmental Engineering) from an accredited college or university
-Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers
- ability to analyze and resolve problems
-Experience on WTS equipment or industry related equipment
-Experience with large scale equipment commissioning and operations
-Working experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming and troubleshooting is preferred
-Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel) and ability to learn company and site-specific computer applications

Compensation: The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all of the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range of $24 per hour
