Job summary

BestLogic Staffing is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for a key manufacturing client. This direct-hire role offers opportunities to troubleshoot complex equipment and travel to customer locations, with 50%–75% overnight travel.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of field service or equipment maintenance experience, plus strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair complex electromechanical equipment at customer locations.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics involving high-voltage (220V–440V) and low-voltage (12V–24V) systems.
• Use multimeter to troubleshoot voltage, current, resistance, and related electrical issues.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, including power supplies, inputs, outputs, switches, sensors, and HMIs.
• Diagnose issues involving servo drives, motors, and motion-control systems.
• Read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex electromechanical assemblies with hand/power tools.
• Learn CNC lathe controls and programming (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens).
• Support magazine bar-feeding systems and CNC lathe processing applications.
• Communicate professionally with end users, OEMs, dealers, and customer contacts.
• Provide equipment installation guidance and operator training.
• Document service calls and technical information in digital files.
• Represent the company professionally before, during, and after each customer visit.
• Travel overnight 50%–75% of the time.

BestLogic Staffing is recruiting an experienced Field Service Technician for a key manufacturing client. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working directly with customers, and traveling to customer locations.

The successful candidate will have 2–5 years of related field service or equipment maintenance experience, along with strong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and customer-service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment at customer locations.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics involving high-voltage systems from 220V to 440V, low-voltage systems from 12V to 24V, and combined electrical systems.
• Use electrical schematics and a multimeter to troubleshoot voltage, current, resistance, and related electrical issues.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, including power supplies, inputs, outputs, switches, sensors, and human-machine interfaces.
• Diagnose issues involving servo drives, motors, and motion-control systems.
• Read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex electromechanical assemblies using common hand and power tools.
• Learn and apply the fundamentals of CNC lathe controls and programming, including Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar platforms.
• Support magazine bar-feeding systems and CNC lathe part-processing applications.
• Communicate professionally with end users, OEM representatives, dealers, and other key customer contacts.
• Provide equipment installation guidance and operator training.
• Document service calls, repairs, customer communications, and technical information in digital customer files.
• Represent the company professionally before, during, and after each customer visit.
• Travel overnight approximately 50%–75% of the time.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Two to five years of field service, industrial maintenance, equipment installation, or related technical experience
• Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Strong working knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems
• Advanced proficiency using a multimeterKnowledge of PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and motion-control systems
• Ability to read pneumatic schematics
• Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with common hand and power tools
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate digital service records
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer-service and interpersonal skills
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight 50%–75% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience servicing CNC machinery, bar-feeding equipment, or automated manufacturing systems
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or comparable CNC controls
• Experience installing equipment and training customers in a manufacturing environment
