Job summary

Hiab USA is seeking field service technicians to perform preventive maintenance, repairs and refurbishments on a range of load-handling equipment. The role covers external locations and customer sites around Madison, WI, with base operations in Oshkosh, WI.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical experience, own tools, and the ability to travel 100% with a valid driver's license. DOT medical card is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required; DOT Medical Card may be obtained.
• Own tools are required and diagnostic/troubleshooting skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, troubleshoot forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders and hoists as per district manager instructions.
• Follow safety rules, procedures and environmental requirements.
• Stay updated with technical developments via service bulletins and courses as directed.
• Respond to customer queries to maximize satisfaction and follow Hiab guidelines.
• Maintain records and submit daily reports as required.
• Identify sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager.
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as needed.
• Present a positive image of the Hiab brand at all times.

Compensation Data

Salary ranges from $35.90-$41.75 per hour based on skills and experience.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

The Hiab facility is located in Oshkosh, WI, however all field service work will be conducted in the Madison, WI and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager’s instructions
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
• Respond to customer’s queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
• Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
• Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Driver’s License is required
  • No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Own tools required
• Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
• This position requires 100% travel
